My name is Judy and I am married to Nigel and we have one son, Karl. I have been a Salvation Army Officer (minister) since 1985 and I am currently the Research & Development Officer for the Barking Riverside Development Project - as well as the Workplace and Community Chaplain for the area.

I was commissioned (ordained) as a Salvation Army Officer alongside my husband, Nigel, on the 25th May 1985 in the Royal Albert Hall.  We have lived and ministered with The Salvation Army in the following places, Lisburn (Northern Ireland), Jessore (Bangladesh), Chalk Farm (London), Paignton (Devon), Accra (Ghana), Leigh on Sea (Essex) and now we find ourselves in Barking - just a few miles away from where we left (Leytonstone) to enter The Salvation Army International Training College, Demark Hill in 1983.

I loathe ironing, housework and cooking!! I do enjoy going out with friends, visiting family and going for walks in High Beach with Nigel and our dog called Taxi - then stopping for a cuppa at the cafe. I love frosty mornings and walking along the embankment, St. Katherine’s Dock - well nearly anywhere in London in the evenings. I enjoy sitting in the garden in the morning or evening with a cuppa watching the geese fly over head from one park to another.
