Show me your favourite photograph and tell me why it's your favourite.

It can be one you've taken yourself or one someone else has taken a snapshot or a more professional image. Is there a story behind it? Do you love it for the memories it gives or just because it's pleasing to the eye?

Show me and tell me!

Watersmeet, situated in Exmoor near Lynton and Lynmouth, is where the Hoar Oak water and East Lynn river tumble together. Watersmeet is a family favourite location from the oldest to the youngest member of Nigel’s family and my own.  The beauty, the unspoilt non-commercial environment, the noise of the gushing waters of the rivers, waterfalls, the walks, the coffee shop which is 19th century fishing lodge has brought Nigel & I back year after year (28yrs) just to soak in the atmosphere, location and all the memories of past family visits.

Our most memorable visit was three years ago when Nigel, Karl and I visited the area and lay flowers in the water in memory of Nigel’s mother who had died the year before and watched them float away bobbing up and down with current.  My mother-in-law loved Watersmeet and in my mind I can see her walking up and down the steep slope with her dog.

Although there are many other areas of outstanding beauty which I have visited over the years and many more yet to be discovered - Watersmeet will alway be close to my heart for the memories that it holds even if I never have the opportunity physically to visit there again.

So Watersmeet is my choice and hope you enjoy the picture which was taken in 2006.
