Fun Monday - Turnstone

Our hostess for this weeks Fun Monday is Lisa at http://lisaschaos.com - please visit Lisa's site and be challenged, inspired and encouraged as visit other Fun Monday contributors..

What is one thing you would like to ask your readers? Come up with a question to pose to your visitors and throw it out there on Monday. As we’re all visiting each other’s Fun Monday posts we should answer the various questions we come across. OR  Show&Tell me about a bird, I’m easily made happy.

Whilst we were visiting Southend Pier, which is the longest Pier in the world (well that’s what the sign said!!) my husband took this photo of a ‘Turnstone’

The reason why I found this photo fascinating is because the Turnstone is normally found on the coastline feeding on rocks covered with seaweed - but this little one - plus all his friends/family - have decided to make their home on a part of the pier that had caught on fire a few years ago and is now just burnt wood on steel pillars in the sea.  They were not at all worried as people walked past, stopped and took photographs in fact I would go as far to say they enjoyed posing!!

As I looked at the photo it reminded me of the many people in our world who find themselves displaced for whatever reason and have had to make their homes in areas not normally considered their natural habitat..  Maybe that’s happened to you or someone you know?
