All activities today have been worthwhile and interesting. Chaplaincy at school was tiring but satisfying as I tried to get around to see as many teachers/staff/ TA's as possible. Network meeting in the afternoon with various service providers (housing, college, surestart, council, police, advice centre) also went well and was very informative. Then this evening on to Thames View Lodge to conduct the evening service - service went well, good number of residents came along - then the manager said she would not be available next week so I had to cancel next week's service, which was a blow to everyone, including me. Activities are not allowed to take place within the complex without a member of staff present - so feel a bit deflated now because I know the folk enjoy meeting in the lounge and having a sing-a-long, time of prayer, cuppa and chat. Will try and pop in during the week and visit folk within their flats instead.
