Party Time at Family Service

Children, children, children and more children everywhere.

Four years ago at Christ Church, Revd David Pearson and I commenced a second service aimed at catering for families. To begin with we were fortunate if two families came along and some weeks we have been known to be sitting there looking at empty chairs.  NOW we have to rethink the service, materials that we use, enlist more helpers  because, as you will see from the photo, there are more children than David and I can cope with!!!

During the month of August we are holding two Family Services – today was an end of term party  allowing the youngster to go and play in the church gardens, an opportunity for the adults to sit and chat, followed by ice-cream, cakes, fruit, juice for the children and tea and coffee for the adults. All the youngsters went home with party bag and a bag containing scripture union bible stories, crayons/pencils.

Next service will be on the 24th August and be a ‘sing-a-long’ concentrating on the chorus’ and songs we have learn this year.
